About the Artist

Elin Morrow is a digital artist working on Ynys Môn.

Every piece starts the same ordinary way. A photo taken on a walk, a few lines sketched sitting on a wall, a moment Elin didn't want to lose. She takes all of it back to the screen and builds from there. Most weeks she's out on the western coast before anyone else is awake, working out what the light is doing before it changes its mind. Not everything she makes is for sale. Two pieces never will be.

How the work is made

Nothing here is painted. Each piece is built on screen from Elin's own source material: photographs taken on the walk, pencil lines from the sketchbook, small watercolour studies, scans of marks made on paper, and notes about what the light was doing. The building is the work.
