Porth Dynion

The Creek

Hidden beneath the cliffs outside Amlwch is a tiny cove that feels as though it belongs in a smuggler’s tale. At low tide a little beach appears, with a cave tucked into the rocks behind it. An old railed walkway clings to the cliff, winding beneath huge overhangs and around the water’s edge. Once a favourite swimming place for local people, there were even bathing huts here. We reached it across the fields, with swallows swooping around us, before disappearing down into this extraordinary hidden place.
