Light Through the Storm

There are evenings when the sky seems to put on a show just as you think the day is over. The clouds had rolled in heavy and dark, swallowing most of the light and turning the sea almost slate grey. Then, for just a few minutes, the sun found a way through. Gold spilled from behind the clouds, catching every ripple and wave and laying a shimmering path across the water. The little headland stood almost in silhouette beneath it all, quiet and unmoved while the sky changed by the second. It is one of those fleeting moments you could so easily miss. A reminder that sometimes the most beautiful light arrives when the sky is at its darkest.
